wikipedia
The Church of St. Vincent and the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a classicist Roman Catholic temple located in Pleszów, a district of Krakow, at 14 Nadbrzezie Street. Its history dates back to 1326, when it was mentioned as the seat of the deanery. Legends say that the first consecration was performed by St. Stanislaus. The current form of the church was given in 1806 based on the design of Father Sebastian Sierakowski. The building was founded by the Czartoryski princes and was equipped by Wincenty Kirchmayer, the subsequent owner of Pleszów. Architecturally, the church is an example of the classicist style, with a tower that was heightened in 1929. The facade features statues of St. Peter and St. Paul. The interior of the church is adorned with a Baroque main altar made of Dębnik marble, which originally came from the dismantled Church of All Saints. The altar contains a painting of St. Vincent from around 1810. In the Rococo side altar, there is a 17th-century painting of the Mother of God with the Child, and in the second side altar, a crucifix from the second half of the 19th century. An interesting element is the triptych, most likely from 1600, depicting St. Anne with the Virgin and Child and saints on the inner wings. The church is also decorated with classicist organs from 1848 and the tombstones of the owners of Pleszów, Jan and Mateusz Kirchmayer. The flooring comes from the furnishings of the Church of All Saints in Krakow. The Church of St. Vincent and the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is an important cultural and historical element of the region, combining architectural richness with the history of the local community.
