The Strzyżów Commune, located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship within Strzyżów County, is an urban-rural municipality with its administrative seat in the town of Strzyżów. It is worth noting that between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the Rzeszów Voivodeship. Strzyżów covers an area of 140.23 km², of which 67% is agricultural land and 23% is forested. The commune occupies 27.86% of the total area of Strzyżów County. According to data from June 2004, it was inhabited by 20,655 people.
