Sulechów is an urban-rural municipality in the Lubusz Voivodeship, within the Zielona Góra County, with its seat in the town of Sulechów. The municipality was established on January 1, 1992, as a result of the merger of the town and the rural commune of Sulechów. The area of the municipality is 236.66 km², dominated by agricultural land (49%) and forests (39%). Sulechów is surrounded by neighboring municipalities and, until the end of 1998, it administratively belonged to the Zielona Góra Voivodeship. The municipality has a rich demographic structure and numerous localities and village councils, including Brody, Buków, Kalsk, and Klępsk. Sulechów is known for its tourist attractions, such as forests ideal for mushroom pickers and cyclists, ponds in Brzezie near Pomorsko, and the Oder River, which is popular for fishing. The municipality offers a variety of accommodation options, including hotels and agritourism farms. In Sulechów, visitors can admire architectural monuments, such as fragments of 14th-century defensive walls, a ducal castle, the town hall, and churches, including the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The surrounding areas feature valuable sites, such as a Baroque palace in Kalsk, the ruins of a palace in Łęgowo, and churches in Gothic and Neo-Gothic styles. The municipality is also rich in natural monuments, with 102 registered objects, including pines and oaks with impressive trunk circumferences. A notable feature is the presence of the Radowice Nature Reserve, which protects rare forest communities. Sulechów has a well-developed transportation network, with national road No. 32 as the main artery and a railway station serving various connections. River transport on the Oder enables the use of the port and marina in Cigacice, as well as ferries in Brody and Pomorsko.
