Susiec is a rural municipality in the Lublin Voivodeship, within Tomaszów Lubelski County, with its administrative seat located in the town of Susiec. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality belonged to the Zamość Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 190.52 km², of which 41% is agricultural land and 54% is forested. In 2011, the population was 7,794, which decreased to 7,432 by 2019. The municipality is known for its rich natural heritage, including two nature reserves: Nad Tanwią, which protects the unique landscape of stream valleys, and Nowiny, which preserves peat bogs and aquatic vegetation. Susiec is also an area with a vibrant culture, where folk traditions blend with modernity. The municipality comprises 17 villages, such as Ciotusza, Grabowica, and Maziły, and is bordered by neighboring municipalities including Józefów, Krasnobród, and Tomaszów Lubelski. The area offers numerous hiking trails, making it an attractive destination for tourists. An interesting fact is the presence of numerous waterfalls in the Nad Tanwią reserve, which draw nature enthusiasts and photographers.
