Szreńsk Commune, formerly known as Mostowo Commune, is a rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Mława County, with its administrative seat in the town of Szreńsk. Historically, between 1975 and 1998, it belonged to the Ciechanów Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 109.66 km², of which 82% is agricultural land and 12% is forested. As of December 31, 2019, it was home to 4,115 residents, marking a decrease from 4,601 inhabitants in 2004. The demographic structure of the commune reflects a diversity of ages among its residents, which influences local cultural and social life. The commune comprises numerous village administrative units (sołectwa), such as Bielawy, Doziny, Grądek, and Szreńsk, as well as smaller settlements without formal village status, like Gryty or Stołowo.
