The tenement at 38 Floriańska Street in Kraków, known as the Głowińska Tenement, is a building with a rich history dating back to the 16th century. Located in the very heart of Kraków, the building belonged to prominent townspeople for centuries, and its name comes from one of its owners, Andrzej Głowa. Architecturally, the tenement stands out for its well-preserved Renaissance elements, such as the cellars, which now serve as a restaurant. In the 18th century, the building was acquired by Piotr Bianchi, the Deputy Cup-Bearer of Lithuania, and his wife Salomea née Karska, which testifies to the continued importance of the tenement in the context of the local elite. After a thorough renovation, the tenement was transformed into the three-star Hotel Floryan, combining modern amenities with historical heritage. Interestingly, the original entrance to the building led through the cellar, and today, hotel guests can admire the past while relaxing in the restored space, which also serves as a reminder of the golden age of Kraków's bourgeoisie.
