The Goats Monument in Poznań

The Goat Monument, located at Kolegiacki Square in Poznań, is a sculpture depicting two butting billy goats, referencing one of the city’s most important symbols – the goats from the Town Hall tower. The artwork was designed by Robert Sobociński and completed in 2002. The monument is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike, offering opportunities for photos and even sitting on the animals’ backs. In 2019, due to the renovation of Kolegiacki Square, the sculpture was temporarily moved to Chopin Park. The monument blends architectural, cultural, and historical elements, serving as both a city landmark and a reminder of local traditions. It is also an excellent example of contemporary urban art that enlivens Poznań’s public space.
