The municipality of Trzebinia, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, covers an area of 105.22 km², of which 40% is agricultural land and 44% is forested. In 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 34,088 people, and by the end of 2017, this number had increased to 34,105. Trzebinia boasts a rich religious life with 11 Roman Catholic parishes, congregations of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the Christian Pentecostal Community. Historically, the municipality was established on August 1, 1934, and its current form was restored after World War II. Trzebinia was once part of Upper Silesia but was incorporated into the newly created Lesser Poland Voivodeship in 1999. Over the years, the municipality has received numerous awards for achievements in local governance, including the Fair Play Municipality title and high rankings in nationwide municipal evaluations. The architectural aspects of Trzebinia include diverse buildings and infrastructure that reflect the region's history, including its post-industrial heritage related to mining.
