wikipedia
Ułazów, formerly known as Łominy, is a village situated on the Tarnogród Plateau in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, administratively part of the Lubaczów County. The history of the locality dates back to 1469, when it was first mentioned in historical records. Its architecture is noteworthy, including numerous wooden houses from the early 20th century and a preserved Greek Catholic church built in 1843, which remains a symbol of local culture to this day. Although partially destroyed by a fire in 1986 and later used as a Roman Catholic church, the building now stands abandoned. Around the village, remnants of historical structures can be found, such as a 19th-century wooden bell tower. Ułazów also has a rich military history, linked to events of World War II and the death of General Józef Kustroń, whose body was initially buried in Ułazów before being exhumed and relocated. An Orthodox parish once operated in the village, and the history of education here began in the early 19th century with the establishment of a parish school. Over time, a people's school was founded, which evolved and developed through the years. Ułazów is not only a village with a rich history but also a place where architecture, culture, and traditions come together in a harmonious whole, making it an intriguing destination for history and architecture enthusiasts.
