Lubaczów County, established in 1999, is located in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, with its seat in the town of Lubaczów. It is the easternmost county of the voivodeship. Its history dates back to the times of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, when it existed from 1462 to 1793 as part of the Bełz Voivodeship. After World War II, the county was reactivated in 1944, and between 1975 and 1998 it operated within the Przemyśl Voivodeship. The county's borders changed after 1945, when some areas from neighboring municipalities were incorporated into it. Lubaczów is a region of diverse geography, dominated by the mesoregions of the Sandomierz Basin and Roztocze, which influences its agricultural character.
