Uniejów is an urban-rural municipality in the Łódź Voivodeship, within Poddębice County, which has historically changed its administrative affiliation, being part of the Konin Voivodeship between 1975 and 1998. The seat of the municipality is the town of Uniejów, primarily known for its rich spa tradition associated with the hot springs found in the area. The municipality covers an area of 129.01 km², of which 82% is agricultural land and 9% is forested. In 2004, it was inhabited by 7,309 people. Uniejów includes many villages, such as Brzeziny, Kozanki Wielkie, Spycimierz, and Wielenin. The town's heyday dates back to the Middle Ages, and the region's architecture combines elements of Gothic and Renaissance styles, visible in local structures such as the church and castle, giving the town a unique character.
