wikipedia
The Palace of Władysław Reymont in Kołaczkowo is a historic, neoclassical building from the 19th century, also considered a manor house, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, in Września County. Built at the beginning of the 19th century for the Stablewski family, although some sources indicate Tadeusz Grabski as the initiator of its construction. The palace gained particular significance between 1920 and 1925, when it was inhabited and used as a creative space by Władysław Reymont, a renowned Nobel Prize laureate. During this time, it hosted many prominent figures from the worlds of science, culture, and politics, such as Adam Grzymała-Siedlecki, Kornel Makuszyński, and Roman Dmowski, further enriching its cultural heritage. It is possible that Reymont’s famous short stories, such as "Osądzona" ("The Judged One") or "Księżniczka" ("The Princess"), were written within the palace walls. The architecture of the palace features a rectangular layout, with its front elevation adorned by an Ionic-style portico supported by eight columns. After 1945, the interiors underwent renovation, but the furniture used by the writer has been preserved, adding historical value to the site. The surrounding park includes a neoclassical outbuilding and farm buildings. Today, the palace serves as the Municipal Cultural Center, housing the Władysław Reymont Memorial Room and the Regional Chamber of Banking Cooperation. This makes it not only a place of historical importance but also a cultural hub, standing as a significant point on the map of local attractions.
