wikipedia
Kadzidlowo Wildlife Park named after Prof. Benedykt Dybowski is a zoo located in the picturesque Piska Forest, within the Masurian Landscape Park, near Ruciane-Nida and Mikołajki. Founded in 1992 by Dr. Andrzej Krzywiński, the park initially served as a research deer farm, inspired by the German Wildpark Eekholt. Over the years, it has transformed into a full-fledged zoological facility, now home to over 400 animals from 100 species, including rare and endangered ones such as the lynx, capercaillie, and black stork. Despite its modest size, the park covers an area of 100 hectares, allowing for the creation of near-natural conditions for the animals. The park's patron is Prof. Benedykt Dybowski, a renowned naturalist whose research contributed to the understanding of Siberian flora and fauna. The park is engaged in educational activities, offering guided tours where guides share knowledge about the local animals, their biology, and habits. The opportunity for close contact with the animals, such as petting and feeding, makes a visit to the park both interesting and educational. Additionally, the park conducts research on the reintroduction of endangered species, using its proprietary "Born to be free" method, which helps animals adapt to life in the wild before their release. As a cultural institution, Kadzidlowo Wildlife Park not only protects endangered species but also contributes to raising ecological awareness in society. An interesting aspect is the combination of educational and scientific activities, cooperation with environmental organizations, and a commitment to deepening knowledge about wild nature in Poland.
