The legend associated with Diabelska Maczuga (the Devil's Club), located in Gorzeszów, dates back to the 12th century, when Cistercian monks were building a monastery in the area. A devil inhabiting these lands became enraged upon hearing about the construction and decided to destroy the monastery by hurling a massive boulder at it. To carry out his plan, he had to do it at night, before the first rooster crowed, as he lost his power at dawn. As the devil flew with the boulder toward Krzeszów, the roosters began to crow, causing him to drop the rock, which fell near the Gorzeszów inn. This story led to the boulder being named Czarcia Maczuga or Czarczy Głaz (the Devil's Club or Devil's Boulder). Diabelska Maczuga is a rock formation made of hewn sandstone, standing 8 meters tall and located in Gorzeszów. On the rock, there is an inscription "1813–1913," commemorating the centenary of Prussia's victory over Napoleon's forces at the Battle of Leipzig. The rock holds not only geological significance but also cultural and historical value, serving as a witness to local legends and events.
