Witnica is an urban-rural municipality located in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, within the Gorzów County. Its administrative seat is situated in Witnica itself. The municipality, which was part of the Gorzów Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998, covers an area of 278.25 km², a significant portion of which consists of agricultural and forest land, each category accounting for 44% of the total area. In 2004, the municipality was home to 13,034 people. Witnica is surrounded by other municipalities, such as Bogdaniec, Dębno, and Kostrzyn nad Odrą. Within its territory lies the Morenowy Las Nature Reserve, which protects unique forest fragments with region-specific flora, including Central European oak-hornbeam forests and lowland beech forests. Among the administrative villages (sołectwa) of the municipality are Białcz, Dąbroszyn, Kamień Mały, and many others. Other notable localities include Tarnówek and Witniczka. The municipality boasts a diverse landscape that attracts nature lovers and tourists.
