wikipedia
Zaklików is a town in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, situated on the Sanna River, with a rich history dating back to the 16th century when it was granted town rights under Magdeburg Law. The town features a small-town urban layout with a central market square and perpendicular streets. Among its notable landmarks are the historic wooden Church of St. Anne, built around 1580, and the Baroque Church of the Holy Trinity from the 16th century, which houses a valuable bas-relief. Another interesting site is the "castle," a well-known structure from the 1960s erected on the site of a former castle. Zaklików has played a significant role in local culture, with its Municipal Cultural Center and the Museum of the Zaklików Land, which collects local memorabilia. The town's history is marked by the fate of its Jewish community, which constituted a considerable part of the population before World War II. During the Nazi occupation, Zaklików was the site of a ghetto, and its residents actively resisted the occupiers. After the war, the town underwent various administrative changes and regained its town rights in 2014 after long efforts to restore its status. Surrounded by forests and a reservoir, Zaklików is becoming a tourist destination, offering attractions for visitors and traditional religious ceremonies, particularly those associated with its sacred sites.
