Zawichost is an urban-rural municipality in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, located in Sandomierz County, with its administrative seat in the town of Zawichost. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship. According to data from the end of 2010, the municipality had a population of 4,634. Its total area is 80.19 km², of which 77% is agricultural land and 13% is forested. Zawichost Municipality also accounts for 11.86% of the county's total area. Demographically, the municipality is characterized by diverse age groups, as reflected in the population age pyramid in 2014. Economically, in 2010, the average income per capita was PLN 2,959.29, while expenditures amounted to PLN 3,570.87. The municipality comprises several villages, including Chrapanów, Czyżów Plebański, Czyżów Szlachecki, and Dziurów. Zawichost borders the municipalities of Annopol, Dwikozy, Ożarów, and Radomyśl nad Sanem, making it an important hub for exchange between these areas. Historically, the region is rich in events and architecture, attracting tourists and researchers of local history.
