wikipedia
The Ożarów Deanery, one of the 25 deaneries in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sandomierz, consists of 11 parishes, including the Parish of St. Apostles Peter and Paul in Bidziny, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ćmielów, and St. Stanislaus in Ożarów. Architecturally, the local churches stand out, most often built in Gothic and Baroque styles, reflecting the evolution of sacred architecture in the region. Interestingly, in 2016, as a result of a reorganization, the Parish of St. Catherine in Łukawa was removed from the Ożarów Deanery and transferred to the Sandomierz Deanery by Bishop Krzysztof Nitkiewicz. Culturally, the deanery is a venue for numerous religious events and local festivals that bring parish communities together and promote regional traditions. Historically, the area of the deanery has witnessed significant events related to the development of the Catholic Church in Poland, as reflected in its parish structure. It borders many other deaneries, such as Lipsko, Opatów, and Sandomierz, which enriches its spiritual and cultural offerings. Thus, this region is an interesting place full of rich history and architectural value.
