Zwoleń is an urban-rural municipality in the Masovian Voivodeship, located in Zwoleń County, with its administrative seat in the town of Zwoleń. It is characterized by its agricultural nature and agri-food industry. The municipality covers an area of 161.12 km², of which 69% is agricultural land and 24% is forested. The terrain of Zwoleń is varied in elevation; the lowest point is in the valley of the Zwoleńka River at 136.5 meters above sea level, while the highest point, the top of a dune in the Linów area, reaches 185.5 meters above sea level. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 15,243, which decreased to 15,125 by 2019. Zwoleń is also traversed by the Zwoleńka River and Piątkowy Stok Stream. The municipality consists of numerous villages, including Atalin, Barycz, Filipinów, Helenówka, and Sycyna Południowa. It borders neighboring municipalities such as Chotcza, Ciepielów, and Policzna. Interestingly, Zwoleń has rich cultural traditions, maintained by local communities through the organization of various events and festivals. The history of the municipality and its inhabitants can be seen through its architecture, which on one hand reflects the functional character of an agricultural region, and on the other hand preserves local customs and traditions.
