wikipedia
The Jan Kochanowski Necropolis Regional Center in Zwoleń is a museum institution based in Zwoleń, operating under the Parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Established in 2012, it was created within the walls of the old rectory, built in 1992. The establishment of the center was co-financed by the Regional Operational Program of the Masovian Voivodeship. The museum, housed in four exhibition halls, features sacred, historical, and regional collections, including items donated by the Kochanowski Family Foundation and local collectors. Among the most valuable exhibits are the chalice of Hieronim Kochanowski from 1661, 17th-century chasubles, and 18th-century monstrances and liturgical chalices. The regional exhibition showcases what could be found in a traditional cottage, highlighting local traditions. The center also provides access to the church and the crypt of Jan Kochanowski, adding historical context and significance to the site. The center is open year-round, and church visits are available daily, except during religious services. It is an important point on the cultural map of the region, combining educational and religious elements, while also documenting important aspects of local history.
