Śrem is an urban-rural municipality in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within Śrem County, with its administrative seat located in the town of the same name. According to data from 2019, the municipality had a population of 42,155. It covers an area of 205.83 km², featuring diverse landscapes including agricultural land, forests, water bodies, and built-up areas. Located in western Poland, approximately 40 km from Poznań, Śrem lies along the historic Warsaw-Berlin Pradolina route, contributing to its rich geological and natural heritage. The municipality is home to numerous natural monuments and reserves, including the General Dezydery Chłapowski Landscape Park, which plays a key role in protecting local flora and fauna.
