The Żurawica Commune, located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship within the Przemyśl County, is an area rich in history and characterized by diverse geographical features. Its administrative seat is the town of Żurawica. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Przemyśl Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 95.37 km², with agricultural land dominating (78%) followed by forests (11%). It constitutes 7.86% of the total area of the county. In 2004, the population of the commune was 12,165. Over the years, the position of mayor has changed hands, and since 2018, Tomasz Szeleszczuk has held this office, succeeding Krzysztof Składowski, who served from 2014 to 2018. The Żurawica Commune consists of several village districts, including Batycze, Bolestraszyce, Buszkowice, Kosienice, Maćkowice, Orzechowce, Wyszatyce, and Żurawica, showcasing its local diversity.
