Brusy is an urban-rural municipality located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Chojnice County. From 1975 to 1998, it belonged to the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship. The municipality consists of 23 village districts, including Brusy-Jaglie, Czapiewice, and Małe Gliśno, with the town of Brusy serving as its administrative seat. According to data from December 2017, the municipality had a population of 14,494 and covers an area of 400.74 km², of which 31% is agricultural land and 57% is forested. Brusy occupies 29.37% of the area of Chojnice County, making it a significant regional entity. The area boasts several remarkable natural features, including seven nature reserves such as Bagno Stawek, Bór Chrobotkowy, and Jezioro Laska, which protect local ecosystems and provide opportunities for recreation and scientific research. The municipality also takes pride in its unique trails, such as the lichenological-cultural path in Leśno and the natural trail of the Kulawa Valley, which attract tourists and nature enthusiasts.
