Dobiegniew is an urban-rural commune in Poland, located in the Lubusz Voivodeship, within the Strzelce-Drezdenko County, with its administrative seat in the town of Dobiegniew. The commune covers an area of 350.99 km², of which 27% is agricultural land and 60% is forest land, making it a significant natural enclave. In 2004, the commune was inhabited by 7,010 people, and its demographic structure reflects a diverse age distribution among its residents. Within the commune's territory, there are three nature reserves: Flisowe Źródliska, Torfowisko Linkowo, and Torfowisko Osowiec, which protect unique ecosystems and rare species of plants and animals. Dobiegniew is also a place with a rich history dating back to ancient times. In the past, the commune was administratively part of the Gorzów Voivodeship (1975–1998). In the localities of the commune, one can encounter diverse architecture, ranging from traditional rural houses to public utility buildings. The commune is surrounded by other communes, such as Bierzwnik, Drawno, and Krzyż Wielkopolski, which fosters regional cooperation. An interesting fact is the name of the commune, which refers to local traditions and history, as well as its close proximity to forest and water areas, which create abundant opportunities for outdoor activities.
