Strzelecko-Drezdenecki County, located in the Lubusz Voivodeship, was established in 1999 as a result of the administrative reform. Its seat is the town of Strzelce Krajeńskie. The region is characterized by a diverse landscape, including the Gorzów Basin with the Notecka Forest, the Gorzów Plain, the Drawsko Plain, and the Dobiegniew Lake District. On the northwestern edge of the county lies part of the Drawieński National Park, and near Strzelce Krajeńskie, a section of the Barlinecko-Gorzowski Landscape Park, making this area attractive for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The county consists of the urban-rural municipalities: Dobiegniew, Drezdenko, and Strzelce Krajeńskie, as well as the rural municipalities: Stare Kurowo and Zwierzyn, along with the towns: Dobiegniew, Drezdenko, and Strzelce Krajeńskie. From a demographic perspective, according to data from the end of 2019, the county was inhabited by 49,009 people, and in 2020, the population was 48,855. Strzelecko-Drezdenecki County has a well-developed transport system, with railway lines on the Kostrzyn-Piła Gł. and Szczecin Gł.-Poznań Gł. routes, as well as national and regional roads, including national road No. 22. It borders the following counties: Międzyrzecki, Gorzowski, Myśliborski, Choszczeński, Wałecki, Czarnkowsko-Trzcianecki, and Międzychodzki.
