wikipedia
Dolice, a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship with early medieval origins, was first mentioned in 1282 as property of the monastery in Kołbacz. Among Dolice’s advantages are its numerous historical monuments, including a parish church from 1596—an example of Renaissance architecture with a Baroque tower—and a manorial park with ancient trees. The region also boasts valuable natural features, such as avenues of oaks and maples. The history of Dolice is rich, with many traces of settlement, including megaliths and burial grounds linked to the Lusatian culture. In the 19th century, the village developed significantly, becoming a local center with numerous institutions and workplaces, reflecting its economic importance. During World War II, Dolice was the site of labor camps, and after the war, it underwent rapid administrative transformation, becoming part of Polish administration. Interestingly, after the war, Dolice was primarily settled by people from the Eastern Borderlands and central Poland. Today, the village is home to the football club GLKS “Unia,” highlighting the local community’s engagement in sports. Additionally, the surrounding area features burial mounds and cemeteries, reflecting centuries of settlement in the region. With its complex historical layers and rich heritage, Dolice is a place worthy of both visits and further study.
