wikipedia
The Drwalewice Palace is a historic monument located in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, in the commune of Kożuchów. Its history dates back to the 16th century, when Hans Wolff von Unruh built a Renaissance defensive manor. Over the centuries, the building underwent transformations, and its owners regularly carried out modernization works. In the 19th century, Lieutenant von Stempel oversaw a reconstruction, and in 1872, the von Eichmann family conducted a thorough renovation, creating the current neo-Gothic residence in the English style. A romantic garden was established around the palace, and a pond was dug, enhancing its representative character. Dietrich von Eichmann was the last owner of the property before World War II. After the war, the palace was used for a State Agricultural Farm, which saved it from degradation. In the 1980s, renovations were carried out, and residents were provided with alternative housing. Unfortunately, after the dissolution of the State Agricultural Farms, the building gradually fell into ruin, though it now has a new owner. Architecturally, the palace is distinguished by its main entrance with a balcony supported by Corinthian columns, while decorations such as griffins and the owners' coat of arms give it a unique character. The rear part of the building is supported by buttresses, and its walls are crowned with attics. The palace is an important element of local cultural heritage, bearing witness to the region's rich history and diverse architectural influences. An interesting fact is not only its Renaissance origins but also that the palace served residential functions for many years, which contributed to its preservation in relatively good condition.
