Fredropol is a rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Przemyśl County. Its administrative seat is the village of Fredropol, and the municipality belongs to the microregion "Dolina Wiaru" (Wiar Valley). According to data from June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 5,410 and covers an area of 159.68 km², of which 41% is agricultural land and 50% is forested. The history of the municipality dates back to World War II, when in 1942 the Fredropol municipality was established following the dissolution of pre-war municipalities such as Hermanowice. After the war, the composition of the municipality changed due to border adjustments, and the Fredropol municipality was reinstated on January 1, 1973, encompassing 22 village districts (sołectwa). Architecturally, the municipality is characterized by traditional rural buildings, churches, and other structures associated with local culture. The culture of Fredropol blends both Polish and Ukrainian influences, reflecting the diversity of its inhabitants and their traditions. An interesting fact is that the municipality borders Ukraine, making it a place of cultural exchange and interaction between the two countries. Among the village districts of the municipality are places such as Aksmanice, Huwniki, and Pacław, featuring landscapes typical of the region. The municipality is an attractive destination for nature and history enthusiasts and also plays an important role in local communities.
