Jarosław Rural Commune, located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship within Jarosław County, has its administrative seat in the city of Jarosław. It was established on August 1, 1934, as a collective commune formed by merging several rural administrative units. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the Przemyśl Voivodeship. According to data from June 30, 2004, the population of the commune was 12,669, and its area is 114.05 km², of which 86% is agricultural land. The commune constitutes 11.08% of the area of Jarosław County. A significant event in the commune's history was the 1954 administrative reform, which introduced gromadas (small territorial units), and in subsequent years, particularly in 1973, these gromadas were transformed into collective communes. From 1990 to 2019, the mayor of the commune was Roman Kałamarz, and the current mayor, serving since 2020, is Elżbieta Grunt. The commune borders other communes, such as Chłopice, Pawłosiów, Radymno, Sieniawa, and Tryńcza. In the past, the commune was known for its rich culture and architecture, with numerous historical monuments in Jarosław, a place of great historical significance in the region. It is also worth mentioning the local traditions and cultural events that attract both residents and tourists, making this commune an interesting place to visit.
