Kisielice is an urban-rural municipality in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, with its administrative seat located in the town of Kisielice, within Iława County. This municipality was part of the Elbląg Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998. According to demographic data, as of June 30, 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 6,232 people, but by the end of 2019, the population had decreased to 5,997. The municipality covers an area of 172.8 km², of which 72% is agricultural land and 12% is forested, making it significant in the context of the region's agriculture. Kisielice is also an important transportation hub, traversed by the S16 expressway and national road 16, which connects many cities across Poland. The municipality includes numerous villages, such as Biskupiczki, Butowo, Goryń, Jędrychowo, and Trupel, as well as smaller settlements like Galinowo, Nojdek, and Nowy Folwark. Although the municipality is not known for monumental architectural landmarks, its infrastructure and spatial layout reflect the local lifestyle and regional history. Kisielice is surrounded by picturesque landscapes, attracting nature lovers and tourists.
