Iławski County, located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, was established in 1999 as a result of the administrative reform. Its capital is the town of Iława, which is one of the most important centers in the region. The county consists of urban municipalities (Iława, Lubawa), urban-rural municipalities (Kisielice, Susz, Zalewo), and rural municipalities (Iława, Lubawa). The county is inhabited by approximately 92,000 people, with a declining population trend in recent years. The area features interesting architectural sites, such as historic buildings in Iława, which are examples of local architecture, as well as historical churches and palaces. The region is rich in history, dating back to the Middle Ages, when these lands were inhabited by Prussian tribes and later became part of the Duchy of Prussia. The culture and traditions of Iławski County are reflected in organized festivals, cultural events, and local customs. An interesting fact is that Iławski County is surrounded by many other counties from different voivodeships, which fosters cultural exchange and cooperation. Additionally, the county has a partnership with Dzierżoniowski County, contributing to the development of interregional cooperation.
