Krościenko nad Dunajcem

The municipality of Krościenko nad Dunajcem, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Nowy Targ County, is characterized by rich natural heritage and cultural diversity. It is home to the Pieniny National Park, renowned for its picturesque landscapes and unique rock formations. Additionally, the northeastern part of the municipality includes the Poprad Landscape Park. The NATURA 2000 areas, such as the Poprad Refuge and parts of the Pieniny Mountains, are also significant, protecting valuable ecosystems and plant and animal species. The municipality covers an area of 57.27 km², with forests accounting for 50% and agricultural land for 45%. It borders the municipalities of Czorsztyn, Łącko, Ochotnica Dolna, and Szczawnica, as well as Slovakia.
