Nisko is an urban-rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within Nisko County, with its administrative seat in the town of Nisko. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship. As of the end of 2020, its population was 22,186. The municipality covers an area of 142.44 km², of which 38% is agricultural land and 52% is forested, highlighting the significance of green areas in the region. Nisko constitutes 18.13% of the total area of Nisko County. The municipality includes such villages as Kończyce, Nowa Wieś, Nowosielec, Racławice, Wolina, and Zarzecze. Neighboring municipalities of Nisko include Bojanów, Jeżowe, Pysznica, Rudnik nad Sanem, Stalowa Wola, and Ulanów, fostering regional proximity and cooperation.
