The Lower Vistula Landscape Park Complex, established in 1993, currently comprises three parks: Chełmiński, Góry Łosiowe, and Nadwiślański. It covers an area of over 60,000 hectares, stretching from Bydgoszcz to Nowe, and includes the territories of 4 counties and 17 municipalities. The park's administration is located in Świecie nad Wisłą, and it operates an Educational and Museum Center in a historic cottage in Chrystkowo. The park protects the natural landscape of the Vistula River valley, safeguarding unique ecosystems such as riparian forests, oxbow lakes, and xerothermic grasslands, as well as rich flora and fauna. Over 1,000 species of vascular plants and 1,100 species of beetles have been documented within the park. The complex also includes numerous nature reserves, such as Góra św. Wawrzyńca, Grabowiec, and Jezioro Fletnowskie, which provide crucial habitats for rare species. The park holds historical significance as well, featuring numerous cultural monuments, including the palace and park complex in Ostromecko and the wooden church in Włóki. The region is characterized by a rich Mennonite heritage, with historic cottages and cemeteries. From a tourism perspective, the area offers numerous cycling and hiking trails, allowing for active exploration. Natural formations such as the Bajka Cave and the Sartowice landslides are also notable attractions. The Park Complex not only conserves nature but also promotes local history and culture among visitors.
