The Lubawka Commune, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and within Kamienna Góra County, is a place rich in history and unique natural values. The seat of the commune authorities is in Lubawka, and its area is inhabited by approximately 10,802 people (as of June 2020). In the past, between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Jelenia Góra Voivodeship. The commune lies at the junction of the Western and Central Sudetes, encompassing parts of the Karkonosze Mountains, the Kamienna Góra Valley, the Krucze Mountains, and the Zawory region. Its area covers 138.08 km², of which 50% is agricultural land and 42% is forest land, highlighting the dominance of nature in this region. An interesting nature conservation site is the Kruczy Kamień Nature Reserve, which protects unique porphyry formations in sedimentary rocks. The commune also has a rich settlement structure, including villages such as Błażejów, Chełmsko Śląskie, Jarkowice, and Paczyn. As an urban-rural commune, Lubawka holds both cultural and historical significance, blending regional traditions with modernity. Due to its location and natural wealth, the region has potential for tourism development, offering numerous trails and attractions for nature and history enthusiasts.
