Męcinka is a rural commune located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within Jawor County, with its administrative seat in the village of Męcinka. Historically, until 1954, the commune was part of the Słup and Piotrowice communes, and between 1975 and 1998, it was situated in the Legnica Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 147.78 km², of which 58% is agricultural land and 32% is forested. Męcinka was inhabited by 4,971 people in 2015, and according to 2020 data, this number increased to 5,006. Within the commune, there are several village administrative units (sołectwa), such as Chełmiec, Chroślice, Kondratów, and Męcinka, as well as several settlements without formal sołectwo status. The commune borders eight other communes, contributing to its diverse character. Męcinka is also home to the Złotoryja-Baryt landing strip, reflecting local development and access to modern transportation infrastructure.
