Medyka is a rural commune located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Przemyśl County, serving as the administrative seat of the commune of the same name. The commune covers an area of 60.67 km², of which 82% is agricultural land, and only 1% is forested. In 2004, Medyka was home to 6,060 people, indicating a relatively high population density for a rural setting. The commune is divided into several village districts (sołectwa), including Hureczko, Hurko, Jaksmanice, Leszno, Medyka, Siedliska, and Torki. It borders the city of Przemyśl, as well as the communes of Stubno and Żurawica, and also shares a border with Ukraine, giving it a distinct geopolitical and cultural character.
