Mielno is a picturesque town in northwestern Poland, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, on the Baltic Sea and Lake Jamno. As a tourist destination, Mielno stands out with its two summer seaside bathing areas and a fishing harbor in Unieście. With a population of approximately 2,914 residents, the town features diverse architecture, including four historical monuments: the 15th-century Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, a manorial park, a villa on Kościuszki Street, and a half-timbered building from the early 20th century. The historical aspects of Mielno date back to its German era when it was known as Großmöllen. In 1947, it adopted its current name, which refers to local geographical features. In the 1970s, plans were made to build a seaport, but these were never realized. Mielno is home to the "Saturn" Sports Club, and among its many tourist attractions are the promenade leading to the beach, the Walrus Monument, and the fishing harbor. Mielno is also known for hosting the International Walrus Meet, which takes place annually and attracts enthusiasts of cold-water swimming. The town is home to various religious communities, including the Roman Catholic Church and a Jehovah's Witnesses congregation. Mielno is well-connected to Koszalin, which supports the development of tourism and the local community.
