Myszków County

Myszków County, located in the Silesian Voivodeship, was reestablished in 1999 as part of the administrative reform, after having been abolished in 1975. The seat of the county is the city of Myszków, and according to 2020 data, the population was 70,709. The history of the county dates back to January 1, 1956, when it was established in the Stalinogród Voivodeship. At that time, the county included three towns: Myszków, Koziegłowy, and Żarki, as well as 22 village administrative districts (gromady) that previously belonged to Zawiercie County. Administrative changes abolished the gromady, transforming them into municipalities (gminy), and in 1999, after territorial boundary adjustments, Myszków County was restored within the new Silesian Voivodeship. Architecturally, Myszków County offers numerous examples of local buildings, including both modern and historical structures. The region is dominated by elements of industrial architecture from the time when the area was associated with heavy industry.
