wikipedia
Narwiański Park Narodowy, established on July 1, 1996, is located in northeastern Poland in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, within the North Podlasie Lowland in the Upper Narew Valley. It covers an area of 6,810.23 hectares, with an additional buffer zone of 15,408 hectares. The park's characteristic symbol is the Western Marsh Harrier. It is worth noting the historic manor in Kurów, which served as the administrative headquarters for 20 years, and currently, in Młynarzówka, there is an exhibition showcasing the natural values of the region. In addition to its natural attractions, the remnants of the old bridge on the Białystok–Warsaw route and numerous opportunities for active recreation, such as kayaking, are also appealing. The park is unique as it does not have a designated strict protection area. A variety of plant communities, dominated by marsh vegetation, include around 500 species of vascular plants, several of which are protected, such as the European White Water Lily and the Siberian Iris. The park's fauna is rich in bird species, including endangered ones like the White-tailed Eagle and the Ruff, as well as rare butterflies. The park serves as an Important Bird Area (IBA), with the Aquatic Warbler as a key species. Tourist attractions include boat tours along the "Narew Bypass" and the Śliwno-Waniewo footbridge, which connects two villages and is accessible to both pedestrians and cyclists, making the park an attractive destination for tourists seeking close contact with nature.
