Nowy Żmigród is a rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within Jasło County. Its history dates back many years, and until 1954 it was known as the municipality of Nowy Żmigród. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Krosno Voivodeship. The administrative seat of the municipality is the town of Nowy Żmigród. The municipality covers an area of 104.54 km², of which 64% is agricultural land and 24% is forest land. This is an area with a diverse structure, conducive to both agriculture and forestry, which influences the local landscape and economy. The demographics of the municipality at the end of 2017 show residents living according to Polish traditions, with strong community ties. Several sports clubs operate within the municipality, including the Sports Club "Wisłoka" Nowy Żmigród and other local football clubs, highlighting the region's sporting character and its commitment to developing young talents. The municipality borders towns such as Chorkówka, Dębowiec, Dukla, Krempna, Osiek Jasielski, and Tarnowiec, enabling cultural exchange and cooperation with neighboring municipalities.
