Ożarów Mazowiecki is a town in the Masovian Voivodeship, part of the Warsaw metropolitan area, with a rich history dating back to the 9th century BCE. Settlement in this area developed thanks to the fertile black soil. The first mentions of the locality appeared in documents from the time of Casimir the Great. Historically, the village was named Pożarowy, and the beginning of Ożarów's modern development dates to the early 20th century when the "Garden City" company was established with the goal of building a colony of single-family homes. The town's dynamic growth occurred after World War II, when Ożarów gained the status of an urban settlement in 1957 and then town rights in 1967.
The architecture of Ożarów Mazowiecki reflects influences from various eras, as well as modernist solutions in residential and public buildings. The town has a vibrant cultural life, with the "Uśmiech" Culture House and local music groups such as the "Ab Imo Pectore" Chamber Choir and the "Ożarowiacy" Folk Ensemble. Ożarów Mazowiecki is also a known educational center with various institutions and an active sports life centered around the Ożarowianka Sports Club and the municipal swimming pool.
An interesting fact is that Ożarów is home to the Euro-Park Wisłosan special economic zone, and companies such as Vigo System and WB Electronics provide innovative technologies, including infrared detectors used in Martian rovers. The town also hosts cultural events like the Municipal Spelling Competition "For the Pen of the Mayor of Ożarów Mazowiecki." Ożarów Mazowiecki maintains partnership relations with Brusy and Bastia Umbra, fostering cultural exchange. Surrounded by beautiful greenery, the town's history and dynamic development make it an important point on the map of Masovia.
