Ożarów Mazowiecki is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the West Warsaw County. Its history dates back to 1867, when it was established as a result of the municipal reform in the Kingdom of Poland. During the interwar period, the municipality was part of the Warsaw County, and in the following years, it underwent various administrative changes, including its abolition in 1954 and reestablishment in 1973. In 1967, the settlement of Ożarów-Franciszków was granted town rights, and it is now known as Ożarów Mazowiecki. The municipality covers an area of 71.34 km², of which 84% is agricultural land and only 1% is forested. By drawing on rural traditions and local folklore, the municipality preserves local customs and traditions. Among its interesting settlements are Osiedle Franciszków and Osiedle Kabel. Ożarów Mazowiecki is also a place where local cultural events are held, fostering community integration. The municipality borders towns such as Błonie, Pruszków, and the capital city of Warsaw. Honorary citizens of Ożarów Mazowiecki include Leszek Stachlewski and Jerzy Andrzej Hulewicz. Despite its proximity to Warsaw, Ożarów retains its rural character, attracting residents and tourists with its historical heritage.
