wikipedia
The Parish of the Most Holy Sacrament in Kadzidłowa belongs to the Silesian-Łódź Diocese of the Old Catholic Mariavite Church in Poland and is the westernmost Mariavite outpost in the country. Its area includes towns such as Kłodawa, Kadzidłowa, and Ostrówek, as well as a diaspora community in Germany. The parish's history dates back to 1908, when Mariavites from the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Stanislaus in Grabów began setting up a chapel. In 1912, 12 morgens (approx. 6.7 hectares) of land were acquired, along with a manor, orchards, and ponds. Between 1921 and 1928, a single-nave Neo-Gothic brick church was built using materials from the dismantled Koszutski manor. The church interior has retained elements of the former estate to this day. The parish became a center of cultural and intellectual life. It provided education for children of various faiths and nationalities, featured a parish brass band, and the women's group "Templariuszek" organized talks on nutrition and hygiene. After World War II, many Mariavites emigrated, leading to a gradual decline in the parish's membership. During the communist era in Poland, part of the parish house was taken over by a primary school, and the upkeep of the church weakened. However, in the 1990s, renovation efforts began and continued into the 21st century. In 2016, a shrine of the Immaculate Virgin Mary was consecrated in front of the church, and in 2022, a comprehensive renovation of the church interior was completed. Religious services are held regularly, including Holy Mass on Sundays and holy days, as well as adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament. Parish celebrations continue to gather the faithful, upholding the rich traditions of the Mariavite community.
