Pieniężno is an urban-rural municipality located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, within Braniewo County, with its administrative seat in the town of Pieniężno. This municipality boasts a rich history dating back to medieval times, when it was part of Prussian territories before becoming firmly associated with the Teutonic State. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Elbląg Voivodeship, and in 2004, it had a population of 6,883, which decreased to 6,183 by the end of 2019. Over the years, Pieniężno has preserved many architectural features that bear witness to its turbulent past. In the town, it is worth noting the famous parish church, an example of Gothic architecture. Historic buildings from the Prussian period also add to the charming character of this place.
