Prague Deanery

The Prague Deanery is one of the organizational units of the Warsaw-Praga Diocese, which is part of the Warsaw Metropolitan Archdiocese. The area of the deanery is characterized by a rich architectural heritage, including historic churches in diverse architectural styles that reflect the development of sacred art in Poland. Among the most important sites are parishes that serve not only as places of worship but also as significant points on Warsaw's cultural map, hosting religious events, concerts, and other social activities. The Prague Deanery also has a notable history dating back to the Middle Ages, with many of its locations rooted in ancient traditions, rites, and customs that have survived to this day. Since November 25, 2021, the dean of the Prague Deanery has been Father Sylwester Gaworek, the parish priest of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Warsaw, who is actively involved in the life of the local community and promotes Christian values among its residents. Also noteworthy are the various initiatives undertaken within the deanery, which focus on integrating residents and providing religious education, creating a space for intercultural dialogue.
