Psie Pole, known in German as Hundsfeld, was a self-governing administrative district of Wrocław, established on February 12, 1952, located in the northern part of the city. Its functions were taken over by the Municipal Office of the Wrocław Commune on March 8, 1990, and the area covers 97.7 km². According to data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) as of December 31, 2019, it was inhabited by 103,556 people. Psie Pole includes neighborhoods on the right bank of the Oder River, such as Karłowice and Osobowice, as well as the formerly independent town of Psie Pole, now within the boundaries of the Psie Pole-Zawidawie neighborhood. It is worth noting that the only neighborhood located on the other side of the river is Kleczków. The district is characterized by numerous single-family housing estates and large residential complexes, such as Zakrzów, Psie Pole, and Różanka. The Widawa River flows through Psie Pole, largely defining the city's boundaries. In the southeast, there are industrial plants, including Polmos, Polifarb, and Volvo, as well as the home appliance manufacturers Whirlpool Polar and FagorMastercook. The northwestern part of the district consists of irrigation areas. Psie Pole features numerous forests, such as the Rędziński and Osobowicki forests, which contribute to its natural landscape. Architecturally, the district combines new housing developments with rural buildings, reflecting its diverse history. An interesting fact is the presence of the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces, which influences traffic organization in this part of the city. The communication network in Psie Pole is also shaped by Jana Kasprowicza Street, the only major artery connecting the eastern and western parts of the district.
