Smołdzino

Smołdzino, a rural commune in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, is located in the Słupsk County and boasts rich cultural and natural heritage. Until 1954, it was known as the Gardna Wielka Commune. With its administrative seat in Smołdzino, the commune lies along the Baltic Sea, within the catchment areas of the Łupawa and Łeba rivers, and includes part of the Słowiński National Park. Notable historical attractions include a church dating back to 1632, featuring an early Baroque altar and a 17th-century pulpit. The region is also home to the Museum of the Słowiński National Park and the Museum of the Słowińska Village in Kluki, which showcases the local culture and history of the Slovincians, the area's indigenous inhabitants. According to 2010 demographic data, the commune had 3,398 inhabitants, reflecting its small size and intimate atmosphere. In 2014, the commune exhibited a specific age pyramid, indicating a diverse demographic structure and potential generational dynamics in the region.
