Strzeleczki, also known as Gemeinde Klein Strehlitz, is an urban-rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within Krapkowice County. Its administrative seat is the town of Strzeleczki. The municipality covers an area of 117.26 km², and as of June 30, 2004, it had a population of 8,015 people. The land use structure of the municipality is diverse, with 58% of the area dedicated to agricultural land and 34% covered by forests. The municipality was established after World War II in December 1945 and initially belonged to Prudnik County. In 1973, it was reestablished with territories from 13 village administrative districts, and in 1975, it became part of the Opole Voivodeship. It is worth noting that Strzeleczki boasts a unique cultural character, with 32.9% of its residents declaring German nationality in 2011, making it home to a significant German minority. By 2021, 29.45% of the population identified as German and 18.46% as Silesian. Architecturally, the municipality takes pride in numerous traditional houses and landmarks typical of Upper Silesia. An important aspect of the local culture is the use of the German language, which has served as an auxiliary language since 2006. Interestingly, Strzeleczki is located in a border zone, granting the Border Guard special authority in matters of security. The region is characterized by its proximity to the Czech border and its diverse landscape, making it an attractive place both for living and tourism.
