wikipedia
The Vistula Landscape Park is a picturesque area located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, established to protect the unique landscape and cultural values of the Lower Vistula Valley. It covers an area of 33,306.5 hectares and mainly includes areas on the left bank of the Vistula River, with a small part located on the right side. The park is part of the Lower Vistula Landscape Parks Complex, which operates under the management based in Świecie. The park's history dates back to 1993 when it was established as the Vistula Landscape Parks Complex. In 1999, it merged with the Chełmno Landscape Park, creating the Lower Vistula Valley Landscape Park. However, this process was complicated by the invalidation of the voivode's regulation by the Supreme Administrative Court. As a result of these events, the parks were separated again in 2005. The park's landscape architecture often harmonizes with regional traditions, and these areas are characterized by rich fauna and flora, attracting nature lovers. Within the park, there are numerous nature reserves, such as Grabowiec, Jezioro Fletnowskie, and Las Mariański, which protect unique habitats and plant and animal species. The park is also involved in educational activities and the promotion of regional culture, which fosters tourism development. In 2018, after the inclusion of the Góry Łosiowe Landscape Park, the name was changed to the Lower Vistula Landscape Parks Complex, highlighting the importance of protecting local nature and culture in this beautiful region.
